It’s a blessed time of year full of celebrations, traditions, and generosity that abounds. There are oodles of great posts out there about the holidays: recipes, traditions, crafts, memories, photos, fashion tips, gift guides, and more! I think that if there is anything you need to know to prepare for the holidays, bloggers have it covered!
Hanukkah began last night and continues until sundown on December 28th. Over at Mom It Forward, Esti provides a brief history of Hanukkah along with suggestions for teaching it’s meaning and celebrating it with your children. If you live the NYC area, Holly from Culture Mom has a round-up of Hanukkah activities going on throughout the holiday. Hanukkah has traditional foods associated with it but it you want to try something a little different, Party Bluprints shares a recipe from Hershey for making a brownie shaped like a dreidel!
The holidays offer much in the way of blog fodder. Conversations overheard, things kids say, and lots and lots of photo opportunities! We always love Vodka Mom’s stories from the trenches of teaching young school children and raising her own kids. This story, which starts off as a memoir from her own childhood, had me giggling by the end. Molly from Stilettos & Diapers catches us up on her family’s holiday so far through photos. One favorite aspect of this time of year is the arrival of holiday cards from friends and family. Allison of Petit elefant shares her family’s holiday card with us.
High on everyone’s list of favorites when it comes to celebrating the holidays is food! Sweets seem to be the most popular and these bloggers know how to get everyone’s attention.
This time of year brings out the craftiness in even the most glue gun challenged. Whether you’re decorating gingerbread houses – Lisa has a fun round-up of amazing gingerbread houses, or wrapping gifts – Teri shows us how to make it personal, there are many opportunities for you to stretch your creative muscles.
More Ways to Celebrate
Finally, it’s the event we look forward to every year: Neil Kramer’s Annual Blogger Christmahanukwanzaakah Online Holiday Concert! We enjoyed seeing what some O2O friends and members had to contribute to the concert this year!
