Zipporah, also known as Zippy, is a retired actress/dancer and retired restaurant owner who now enjoys spending time “looking for products that make you feel like you’re living in luxury, destinations that you’ll take with you long after you’ve left, and musings on the little things that create a big life”. She shares all of that and more on her blog, Champagne Living, where she encourages readers to “keep your life sparkling and your glass full”. Zippy lives in south Florida, is married, and has one son and a miniature bull-terrier, Clemenza.
We asked Zippy, “What is your favorite thing about being a blogger?”
I began my life as an actress and dancer (and have even worked as a clown and magician’s assistant when I was young). Later I ended up in the restaurant business (backwards, I know), owning restaurants in both Providence and Newport, RI and eventually going to work for Starbucks. The thing that I missed the most was the opportunity to be creative each and every day, and with blogging I have the opportunity to do just that.
I’m known for…being ready to go at a moment’s notice. Whether it be a press trip, out dancing with the girls, or just sitting on the beach with a friend – I never have to be asked twice.
I’m working on…some secret projects. One has to do with my turning 60 in 2014, and another is a collaboration with a good friend who’s a novelist.
10 years from now I…I don’t want to think about it. I’ll be 68 years old with too much plastic surgery, trying to fit into skin tight leopard jeans, and hanging around with my other old blogger friends in Boca Raton.
I’m currently addicted…to the Real Housewives of Miami. It might have something to do with a friend who’s on this season (that’s what happens when you live in South Florida).
I find joy…in everyday life. That’s the essence of Champagne Living.
My secret ambition…is to go back to Paris to live (I lived there in the 70′s). It’s less of an ambition and more of a plan.
I can’t do without…striped shirts, coffee, scarves, and good dark chocolate.
I’m most creative…first thing in the morning.
I admire…the great writers and poets of our generation, like Bret Easton Ellis, Patty Smith, and my my bestie Ava Rogers.
When I grow up….let’s not even go there.
Do you sing in the shower? No I don’t. If I did I’d have to run out quickly from the screeching noise.
Favorite line from a movie or tv show? “Fasten your seatbelts, it’s gonna be a bumpy night.” (All About Eve)
If you could go anywhere for one day, where would you go? I’ve traveled extensively, but I’ve never been to the area of Russia where my grandparents are from. I’d like to see where they came from and what’s become of the village.
Morning person or nighttime person? Both. I get work done early so that I can enjoy going out at night.
Three words my friends would use to describe me are: Fun, happy, did I say fun?
