Kim is the party maven behind The Celebration Shoppe and a contributor on SnackPicks.com from Kellogg’s and on Parents.com. She is mom to two boys and found her inspiration for her business while trying to plan the first birthday party for her first born. At The Celebration Shoppe you can find invitations and and a wide array of printables for just about every occasion! And on The Celebration Shoppe blog, Kim shares ideas and photos from her events.
Since she’s a party planner and a blogger, we wondered if Kim has a favorite party/occasion/recipe post? She said, “That is a tough one… but I guess I would say given that it is Halloween season, my favorite right now is my Tricks and Treats Halloween Collection.” (I have to say, I like that one, too! It inspired me to create a Frankenstein popcorn bowl out of a square vase as seen here.) Read on to learn a few more tidbits about Kim.
I’m known for… crafting, baking and creative party ideas!
I’m working on… Halloween and Thanksgiving crafts and treats. A few for clients and a few for my fabulous readers!
10 years from now I… plan to be enjoying life with my loving husband and beautiful sons.
I’m currently addicted to… coffee and dark chocolate…always.
I find joy… in spending as much time as I can with my boys, which often means incorporating them into my work whenever possible.
My secret ambition… well, actually this life, starting my own company, was my secret ambition for two of the 10 years I worked corporate marketing for a large financial institution. It’s turned out pretty well.
I can’t do without… some “me” time. I need time each day to think, sketch, make notes and craft if at all possible. Those moments usually come in the early morning hours before my family gets up and the day begins.
I’m most creative… in the early morning hours.
I admire… moms that can truly attain a work life balance. And in my opinion that doesn’t mean having it all, as much as it means having a great career while still spending as much time as possible with their children. Our time is the most important gift we can give them.
When I grow up… well, I never want to completely grow up!
Do you sing in the shower? No… but only because everyone is still asleep!
If you could go anywhere for one day, where would you go? Back to the summer of 1985, to my grandmother’s house, where we would bake cookies and sip sweet ice tea one more time while I poured my heart out about everything right and wrong in my life. Oh how I miss her!
Morning person or nighttime person? Morning all the way!
Three words my friends would use to describe me are: Chatty, crafty and hopefully they would say a good mom.
